Thursday, March 21

8:00am

Samsarafest Holi Color 2K Run, Walk OR Crawl
Limited Capacity filling up

Where do you go?
Enumclaw Foothills Trails (entrance by the Grocery Outlet parking lot)

Where do I park?
Grocery Outlet, QFC, Church parking lot next door to grocery outlet with the coffee shop.

What if I do not have a festival pass?
Please plan to pay $10 to help towards costs if you are able. No one turned away.

What to expect?
There will be 2 color stations along the trail. You are welcome to wear white but not required. You can purchase a clear poncho onsite if you like to play but do not enjoy the messes. Or you can wear it for your car ride home. Else please bring towels.

You can run, walk, crawl or just play. We encourage 3 legged races too. Please do not trail too far from the main course as we would like to keep colors on main course only.

March 21st is Holi - Festival of colors

We all need COLORFUL vibrations...

If you are a runner you will no doubt be well aware of color runs. These fun races, that started here in the US, mix running, music and colored powder to offer a unique experience to casual and expert runners alike. You may have even taken part in one of them. But did you know they were inspired by the Holi festival, that has been celebrated for centuries in India?

The Holi festival is celebrated in March each year to welcome the Spring season and celebrate fertility and love. The festival takes place all over India and Nepal and involves the throwing of colorful powder paint and tasty meals shared with the family.

So what better way to celebrate SAMSARAFEST on its opening day with a holi run?

DRUM CIRCLE DESCRIPTION
We invite you to gather with us in circle for a meditative and healing journey through sound.  We'll be setting intentions, drumming and fully expressing ourselves in unity with a fun and joyful drum circle using a variety of instruments.  You do not need to play an instrument to join or have any experience. You are welcome to sit in circle, taking in the meditative rhythms of the music.

This ancient experience has been used for thousands of years to heal the body, mind and spirit.  Studies have shown that participating in a drum circle helps reduce stress, anxiety, accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system, produces feelings of well-being, releases emotional trauma and may leave you feeling refreshed, renewed and restored.

WHAT TO BRING:
Bring your drum, flute, rattle, shaker or personal instrument you feel called to play. We will provide a variety of instruments all are welcome to play such as drums, rattles and shakers if you don't have your own

Rainbow Prayer Flags
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Want to manifest your intentions in a creative and colorful way? By creating your own set of rainbow prayer flags you can remind yourself to live your best life. Inspired by Tibetan Prayer Flags that are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom, you can decorate your flags with words, mantras, images or abstract art. I was moved by the sentiment that these prayers didnt get sent to the gods, but permeated all space bringing goodwill and compassion to all. I will provide a set of 7 rainbow prayer flags, each hand dyed and sewn by me, a variety of strings to unite the set, a professional grade white ink for designing with brushes and other design tools.

From the Ground UP
Do you ever feel like your head’s in the clouds? Maybe you feel frazzled and disconnected at times? This special experience designed by Hilary will help retrain your nervous system and brain to REstart from the ground up. We often operate too much from our head, and lose sight of our roots… the very things we need to survive in this fast-paced society. Using the breath, primal movements and traditional yoga postures, Hilary will guide you through a sequence to help you feel centered and supported. We will begin on the ground with meditation and slowly make our way up to standing. Once we are there, we will let go of the Ego’s BS holding us back, then we will descend back to Earth. By the end of the class, you will feel cleansed of the clutter and return to the essence of YOU. You will need a yoga mat.

Power Flow & Yin Yoga
This class will begin with pranayama (breath work) and intention-setting. We will dive into a dynamic warm up and core work with a powerful flow making up the body of the class. We will wind down with yin postures and a peaceful savasana. You can expect an inspiring theme and fun playlist to groove to during class with integrity and creativity encouraged!

Yin Experience

Slowly unravel and surrender to the nourishment of your breath and the quiet power that is Yin Yoga. Yin yoga allows you to explore the levels of depth that are connected to the inner workings of the body, mind, and breath. By allowing our bodies to linger in stillness, poses may be held anywhere from two to ten minutes, we begin to stimulate and target the deeper connective tissues in the body and activate our parasympathetic nervous system.

During this journey we will slowly shape shift in a way that provides the spaciousness for you to explore the deeper layers of self that linger beneath your surface. Gentle assists and light touch with essential oils will accompany this experience (optional).

WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to receive a brief overview of yin yoga; physical benefits, and why the breath plays an essential part for this practice.

You will leave this experience feeling spacious in your body, mind, and breath. Dress cozy, bring a mat, water, and a journal if this suits you and join us for an experience like no other.
